At the present, the two most powerful mobile operating systems are somewhat making their presence count in our lives through various devices like smartphones and tablets. Both of the OS are powerful and pretty much famous, but have you ever thought which one is better for your device, well if not then I am here to present some points that will surely make you think on this topic.
To compare between the two OS we will be having a look at them through various parameters like UI, performance and other features, so let the comparison between Android and iOS begin,
User Interface
Android and iOS both have excellent UI, but when it comes to flexibility or a range of UI, then Android surely makes the cut above iOS. If you have a proper look, then you will be noticing that the iOS is somewhat more simple, whereas Android features a much more powerful UI, letting you do all the things you want to do.
Secondly, since Android is available on a wide range of smartphones and other devices, so we are able to see a variety of UI, for example Samsung has its own TouchWiz UI, whereas Sony Ericsson has its Xperia UI, but in iOS, you will be able to see only one UI.
Morever, with any theme changer app, you can change the UI, with just a touch, and guess what, you can even have the UI of iOS on Android by applying a specific theme.
Performance
In this case, we will have to consider both the OS has an equal chance of winning. Since both the OS has their own applications, so we can consider they are powerful enough in their own respect. For example, you will not see a lag on any iPhone or iPad, but you can significantly see a lag in performance if the Android OS is not running on a capable device with good hardware specifications.
While on the powerful Android phones and devices you will be seeing that Android is like butter, with smooth UI, and powerful performance, and with the latest Jelly Bean update Android is now even smother and better than ever before.
But you might want to ask that there are many apps and games which are available for both Android and iOS and they perform equally well on both the OS, so how come one be better? Well, in that case I would rather leave this choice entirely upon you to decide which one is better, but I can always provide a slight hint that you can have slightly better performance on Android if you use it well.
Features
Android and iOS both bring a lot of unique features in the market. Some has a feature that sets a trend while the other brings another great one, which just puts the feature of the other OS into shadow. Here, we will be comparing some features of Android with some features of iOS.
To highlight some of the newly added features to both the OS, we can have a look at the voice assistant apps. In iOS, we have Siri, which is smart enough to answer your questions cleverly and appropriately while lags in the feature where you need to search for something. On the other hand Android introduced Google Now, which by far the best voice search assistant and uses the most powerful search engine in the world which is Google, to deliver answers to your queries in a jiffy.
We know that there exists a great competition between both the OS as when one brings something new to the market, the other one is ready to put that into dust with another new feature. But as I personally consider that if you start making a list of features that both the OS provide then you will end up having a list thatβs heavier on the side of Android.
One thing that I would like to highlight is that iOS often tries to come up with features that are already available, for example the reply with a message feature, having their own maps, and some other features, so that makes Android an innovator of new features. However, this should not be considered as blame to iOS or any such thing, as both OS are innovative, and brings new features that are exclusive to both, and this was just a noticeable fact.
Well this brings me to the end of the discussion, and I hope that I have sparked up the thoughts about comparing both the dominant mobile operating systems and decide which one is better suited for you, gave you the points for each side.
So why not let us know which one is better according to you, Android or iOS, as we would love to have your views regarding this topic, let the debate begin, please leave your comments below and I will be answering with an appropriate reply.
Hi rahul, I like Android phones because it has great features. And android is a great company. Thanks for this post.
You are welcome mate, and yes Android rocks! π So, we have +1 for Android, anyone supporting iOS here?
Well iOS is basically famous for it’s Graphics Functionality and Android for its Great Durability. Android’s is developed with Linux Kernel so it basically gives us Security against many Viruses. Hence Always Android
I didn’t understand, “iOS is basically famous for it’s Graphics Functionality”, what kind of graphics? So here goes another +1 for Android.
iOS devices perform better, Although Android is also good option but in the premium services and performance iOS is ahead till date. iOS device respond quickly when press home button switch between programs but when same we do on Android it isn’t so well.
Well iOS is great, but Android is not laggy, if you use Android on a good and high performance phone like Galaxy S2 and S3, you can feel its super smooth and fast. So, here goes a +1 for iOS, great going guys. π
Hi Rahul, Great comparison bro. I like Android most which is really great with many number of application and games. Thanks for Sharing!
Thanks for your appreciation Sai, so here goes another +1 for Android. No one wants iOS?
Hey rahul bro, Glad to see your contribution on Itechcode. I always go with android, I just love it. I never tried Ios, may be I will buy a IOS device soon…
Thanks mate, so here goes another +1 for Android. π
android is good due to its versatility ,ios is more user friendly.so its depends on the fascination of the people, which is best
Which one seems better according to you mate?
I love Android . Android stands tall over iOS in almost any point of view . Most of the iOs apps are paid while in the Google Play Market majority of apps are free ….
Yup that’s a true fact Navneet, one can get a lot of free apps which are really great on Android, while on iOS, one has to pay for most of the apps.
When you talk about User interface and performance, there s no doubt iOS leads the market with 92% consumer satisfaction than 68% consumer satisfaction from Android.
Can you provide some points or areas where iOS leads over Android in Performance?
In the end, it all comes down to personal tastes and experience.:) See if you can try an iOS device out for a certain amount of time and determine if the experience meets your needs. For many switchers, iOS offers a smooth user experience that works well for them.i support IOS π
Good suggestion mate, have tried iOS, but personally I like Android much more than iOS. π
