Business has only two functions – marketing and innovation
– Milan Kundera
Are you a blogger, an affiliate marketer or whatever title you hold in today’s marketing world?
You need focus to achieve tremendous success.
What you do with your leisure time has a multiplier effect in your business.
A lot of people think that free time is for relaxation. Sure, relaxation is good – but something has to come in. We can call this vision.
How would you want your online business to turn out in the next 3 – 5 years?
It takes vision to stand up tall and move on with life, despite what Google is doing. I know that my business will grow beyond where it’s now – so I don’t give up.
After you’ve envisaged the future, your hope will come alive. Even though you’re having a nice time with your family in a beautiful Island, the clear vision you’ve will enhance your business while you’re away. I’m so sure about that.
For bloggers, we really need to a definite order that doesn’t fade away. I want to share with you the 2 powerful blogging ideas that can supercharge your efforts. You want fame, money, traffic and thousands of backlinks, right?
I want those, too.
But how do you in your limited ability make money blogging, build thousands of backlinks when for instance, you hold a 9-5 job? Do you think it’s easy to become famous when you barely update your blog?
Well, the only two ideas you should focus on to grow your blog has been summarized by Milan Kundera. Two ideas only: Innovation & Marketing.
Innovation
Basically, innovation means a new way of doing something that has always been. For instance, we all know about using search engines to drive traffic, right?
Now, if you want to make headway in the blogosphere and reap great rewards, you’ve to approach your contents creation with an innovative mindset – vision.
Instead of writing on 7 ways to drive traffic to a blog, an expert will pick on idea from the seven and explore it. That’s how successful bloggers are made. You should plough the same route if success is your vision.
If blog readers must read, and share your post then you’ve to give them a reason to do it. No one is going to share a generic article. Yes, beginners who just started out blogging may decide to tweet it, but for people like me who already have built successful blogs, I can’t promote a generic idea.
You need to start innovating. The truth of the matter is this: every blog post idea you could ever imagine have been written by someone, somewhere? Just type a keyword on Google search and you’d marvel at the result pages.
BTW: Those pages are called search engine result pages (SERPs).
And innovation may not come from your head. You need to conduct an in-depth research. Get to know what other people have written or quoted about the topic you’ve in mind. Gather some valuable data before writing a single word.
Once you’re convinced that you’ve gathered enough data, go right ahead and start jamming the keyboard – write with a vision of what must happen to the content. Write a post that people can use without paying someone to interpret the terms used.
Write because you care about the reader. Write your posts without sounding like a jerk. Solve a problem and make people laugh – that’s how to innovate.
Marketing
You and I know that marketing is a common word. But what exactly is it and how can it help you grow a profitable blog?
In the concept of blogging, marketing is a simple term that identifies a group of people who have needs, and you’ve to create a product or offer a service to meet that particular need. Learn more about content marketing.
Most people think that by guest posting, they’re marketing. Sure, guest posting can only be marketing if you’re writing to attract the right people – in order words, you’ll have to study the niche blogs before pitching them.
What kind of audience are you looking to attract to your blog or website? This simple step would enhance your marketing. Here is a simple way to understand marketing and start implementing it.
Let’s assume you offer SEO services on your website. Now, how do you market your services so that clients can hire you? Intelligence is the key.
Now, you’ll have to locate web development blogs and freelance blogs. Your target audience usually hangs out on those portals.
Do you realize that when you write a quality and helpful guest post and publish on these sites, the right clients might hire you? Yes, that’s how it works. Being everywhere is good, but being at the right place is better.
Blogging takeaway
Yes, innovation and marketing is the cure for blogging failure. Maybe you’ve failed several times and still find it difficult to attract traffic, comments and income, stop focusing on the ugly experiences and start innovating. As you do that, garnish your efforts with savvy marketing and success will come.

I can’t say much about Marketing but Innovation really matters. In your blogging career if you are innovative and unique there is no one stopping you in long terms. However marketing if combined with innovation can give great results!
Michael, you’re absolutely right and I agree with you, for every internet business we need to have innovative ideas and own marketing strategies on how to attract people. Traffic is not only the way for engaging with people and we need to add them on our circles and help them will also a good way of innovative marketing techniques.
I appeciate your comment friend. See you around!
Of course in order to get our content shared by successful Bloggers, there must be a generic idea in content.
Guest Blogging is awesome way of marketing because it takes us on that place where the Blogging elites are.
These are really awesome ideas bro.
Thank you so much Amrik for reading my post. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Completely agree with this post. Just want to add that innovation come from creativity. You can only innovate if you have the creative mind. While many bloggers fail in this is because they have been trained to follow the leader. Whenever I talk or write on this, I always remember the children’s game where every one runs round a circle singing, “everybody do as I do, don’t worry!”
The point is, if you have the mentality of following the leader, you cannot innovate. The best way is to look carefully at what the leader is doing and then, see how you can build on it.
Thanks Mike for sharing this with us.
Thank you so much Chadrack. I appreciate your comment.
Michael Chibuzor this is my personal experience that if we just blog without any specific plan or action than initially we may succeed but eventually after some time we will fail.
Hi Michael ,
I think one of the most important things you’ve mentioned is where your efforts will be in 3-5 years. One needs to think in the long-term. Innovation and marketing are two of the things that need to be constantly visible in your business efforts, even though Marketing and innovation are two parts that needs to change on regular basis.
BTW – Love the quote from “Milan Kundera” , found this to be quite accurate.
Yes, blogging is a long term project. When you think about the future of your business, you’d be guided to make wise choices. Thanks for reading. Go and innovate today!
