As many of you already knew, there are thousands of blogs created everyday. The purpose of creating of each blog is difference. It could be to talking about love, technology, journalism, science, etc. Or just a feeling on the movie that they like.
When you start a blog, chose a right blog niche for your blog is the most important thing you have to do. Because your blog niche is the main reason important to attract readers visiting your blog.
According to my experience, I advise you only to choose a unified niche for your blog. This is the only way to readers to know what your blog wants to talk about and it is the first step to make your online business brand.
Remember that chose a blog niche (or topic) is the first step to get solid traffic to your blog. If you don’t know how to choose your one niche, here are the guides you need to choose a niche that is right for you:
1. Choose a Blog Niche that You Are Interested In.
Write about your interested topics are always easier than other topics. Because when write about a topic you like, you will be excited, will write more and more often. And a blog is regularly updated will get more traffic than a blog is not regularly updated.
Please visit, read the blogs have different niche, ask yourself the question “Do I interested in that topic?” If the answer is yes, that is the topic you can choose.
2. Choose a Blog Niche that You Have Knowledge.
Each has a capacity, individual field office, nobody good at everything. Therefore, when choosing a blog niche, you should choose a niche that you have knowledge, deep understanding. Because if you are knowledgeable about the topic you mentioned, you will make the reader believe when you can answer all the questions they pose, and of course, this is a good way to build a brand for you.
Please list all the topics that you have knowledge and define a topic that you can learn and update knowledge. It’s a niche you should choose.
3. Choose a Popular Blog Niche
Choose a popular niche is one of the best ways to get stable traffic from search engines. Because you should remember that a popular topic will be having more relevant keywords were searched, and as such, If your blog writes about a popular topic, It will be able to receive more and more new readers.
However, the popular topics are often very competitive. You will have to spend much effort to overcome the opponent and find a steady audience. You also keep in mind that popular topics change over time. So, choose the topics that you think it would be interested in a long time or at least enough for you to complete plans to build blogs with this topic.
Conclusions
There are many ways you can choose a niche for your blog, as written on the subject whom many people are interested (such as making money online). But in my opinion, the best is that you should only write about the topics that you are really interested in and have much knowledge.
This is your first step to build confidence of your readers through every article that you’re going to share on your blog.
Choosing a popular niche is a good choice, but you will be hard to achieve success because the competition is too fierce.
Ultimately, the choice is yours. I hope this post helps you decide to choose topics to blogging.
Nice tips Trung 🙂 ! Agree with all the points you have mentioned in the post, we must always a niche in which we have passion & knowledge !
Yep, Choosing a niche we have passion and knowledge is the smart way to start a successful blog 🙂
Trung, when I first started blogging I refused to pick a niche. As time went by it seemed that I started to gravitate towards writing tutorials so I decided to stick with that. Now I spread my wings by using various publishing formats like video and podcasting as well at blogging. That seems to be working for me.
Hi Ileane, I think when you first started blogging, you were followed your passion and I’m sure that this is the way that you naturally choose a blog niche, don’t you?
Great Post. Having knowledge is the most important of them all. Because without knowledge, you cannot write your best.
Keep up the good work 🙂
Exactly, Harneet, thanks for your point here 🙂
I agree, you can only write best on subjects that you truly know. Else everything will just be dummies. If I may add, I think we can adopt how we search for potential keywords to make a blog post with. Search for the niche that is popular but low in competition. Would you agree?
You got a very informative blog here. Keep it up.
Total agree with you, Dimaks, choosing a topic that has low competition will help us get high ranking on search engines easier than others, that’s seeming like I did to get ranking for my keywords too, you can check it right here link
“Choose a blog niche that you are interested in.” Very true, indeed. Blogging requires fresh, new content regularly and if you chose to pursue a niche that you don’t like, sooner or later you won’t have any more ideas to add as content to your blog. It is different if your blog talks about something you are really interested in and have a passion for. You can go on and post even several times in a day without getting burned out, at some point.
Thanks for your awesome comment to agree with my point on this blog posts, I can’t agree more or say something else, thanks so much Arlene 🙂
Blogging is YOYO (Your On Your Own), if choosing the wrong niche then you’ll be wasting your time and effort and nobody could help. Just choose what’s interest you the most and you’ll be good!
I love what you said about choosing a blog niche, Peter, just following our passion is the best way to choose one niche 🙂
i agree with your hundred percent. choosing a niche which you are not passionate about or which you know nothing about is just a waste of time. you should always choose a niche which you are passionate about
nice article Trung
thanks or sharing
Thanks so much, Bryan, I’ve just visited your blog and really impressed, your blog looks great and I wish you will succeed with it, have a nice day 🙂
Thanks, this is a great blog post, choosing a popular niche can be a good way to start but also hard to get noticed.
thanks for sharing
Thanks for your comment, James
Choosing a niche is hard but not impossible. You have to think and think what you want to blog about. I am sure most people are confident in one thing or the other. It just requires a little bit soul searching.
If someone feels hard to choose a blog niche, I’m sure this post can help they going on the easy way.
Hey Trung,
Nice topic. This is the main foundation of a site that you should pick a right Niche without it the site would aimless and it will not go to any proper direction, so one should pick Proper Niche first and then he should pick a domain on that basis.
Trung Now-a-days all bloggers are suddenly Jumping in to Tech. Blogging. In 2006 I have started many Tech. Blogs but all were in Blogger Platform and later on I moved from Blogger to WordPress.
Anyways Good Post. Keep it up…
Yep, I’m sure choosing a blog niche is the very first step we should follow to start a blog if we want to build a successful blog, not just a normal blog.
Ya you are absolutely right.
nice post Trung, i have many sites but most of have mix niche content i think now i want to target one niche.
I think you should do it as soon as you can is better 🙂
Hey Trung,
Great to see your tips on niche search it’s good enough too thinks for long term instead of short term strategy.
Yep Rizwan and as I said, we should follow our passion when choosing a niche to blog about.
Trung,
Selecting a niche to write is a decision I still have not made. I’ve slowly whittled it down to a handful of topics, but do you think its really necessary for a personal site? Am I doing more harm by NOT selecting on topic?
Thanks for all you do.
Damond
Hi Damond,
Thanks for your awesome question, instead of directly answer your question, let’s me show you the benefit of choosing a niche to blog or writing about:
1. Increasing loyalty reader or customer: When your blog or website only focus on 1 topic, your readers will bookmark your site and when they want to find something relate to your blog topic, they will return to your site to look for what they want.
2. Increasing your authority: When writing about only one topic, your writing will improve and your content will be updated easily with higher quality, that’s why your site will be ranked higher.
3. Your earning will increase: If you just focus on 1 topics, your site will be easily getting high ranking on search engines and that is main reason your site will increase traffic and income as well.
These are just some of awesome benefits when we choosing a niche for our website.
Any else question, Damond?
A blogger choose his niche according to his interest & knowledge because blogging is a long term process. You have to write regularly on your niche. You describes all these points very well
Total agree with your comments, hope this post will help someone to start a successful blog 🙂
Select the niche you are interested in and also If you are an already expert of that then success is at the next door. Thanks Trung For awesome post.
Thanks for your nice comment, Reetika 🙂
For me, your blog should be about what you love or what you know rather than what will help you earn more.
IMO
That’s the key to build a successful blog, following your passion, not for profit.
Choosing the proper niche is key to being successful online. You need to chose one that is both profitable and has a decent dedicated fan base. It all starts with niche selection and keyword research, do these both properly and you can make any site take off.
I’m sure you’re ready know how to make money blogging now, Clint 🙂 Thanks for nice point you mentioned here.
Trung, I enjoyed reading this post, Currently I write mainly about Technology as even it’s popular and also I love technology as am a tech freak too. I believe that Passion is what makes you find your way. What you’re interested, you should blog about that only!
I enjoyed it.. 😉
Hi Satyakam,
I believe you will be successfull because you’re following your passion first, not profit. Keep update your knowledge about Technology and I’m sure you will get you achievement. Good luck and hope you will succeed soon 🙂
Are you turning to weigh loss niche, Trung? This is a great niche but it’s very competitive, how is it going?
I c hose that niche just because I really was overweight, I’m a fat guy and I need to lose weight 🙂
Hi Trung,
Probably the biggest mistake that a lot of new bloggers do is that they choose a niche just because others make money on this so they start blogging on something that they have no true interest and probably they don’t like write about so after a while they give up. I believe that the best way to build a successful blog is to write about something you are passionate and really love to write about so in my opinion your first 2 points are the most important ones, thanks for sharing…
As I said, if we start blogging but don’t follow first 2 points above, I’m sure we will give up even when success is coming very close. Thanks for your feedback, Kostas.
I must agree!! Choosing a niche that you know something about… and you are interested in… then trying to find one or make it your brand so that you can find the people who will follow… yes a popular niche isn’t a great idea cause of the problems to rank, however if you can isolate what makes you different, then it can work to your advantage, right??
You know what I wanted to talking about on this post, Holly, thanks for your nice points here 🙂 keep sharing your mind with us.
You’re total right. If we can do that, we will be successful. If not, ignore and find other ways 🙂
It is really an advantage if you know your niche it helps a lot.
Nice post Trung,
One must choose a blog topic in which they’re passionate about and love to write about because if you don’t enjoy what you’re writing about than for sure you’ll lose interest and will quit.
I call it is the first step to run a successful blog 🙂
